Overall Authority Builders Review

I give Authority Builders 4 stars out of 5.

Conclusion

Authority Builders is a well-respected backlinks marketplace run by a well-respected SEO expert. I couldn’t find much fault in what the service offers.

I was very happy with all three links that I received. One of them was just ‘average’, but still nothing to complain about. Authority Builders sells backlinks to trustworthy sites with good authority. With this service, your content shouldn’t end up on any sketchy, spammy sites.

Is Authority Builders worth it? Absolutely. You have to be prepared to pay a high price, but the link ordering process is transparent and the links are generally of a high quality.

When ordering links, you can access basic details of each site (traffic, number of links, site description). This means you can browse through the link opportunities, discover your options, and make informed buying decisions.

It’s a great way to get fast backlinks - as long as you’ve got the budget.

The platform also has some good feedback from users on Reddit, but other than this, there’s not a lot of information to go off.

I guess I’ll just have to find out for myself.

My Authority Builders Experience

I bought three links from Authority Builders to see just how good their service is.

Each link was for a different page on my site, focused on the tech niche.

To understand whether Authority Builders is worth it, I gave each link a score out of 5.

Read on for a detailed breakdown of what each link that I paid for looks like.

Link 1: 3 out of 5

  • Total cost: $320
  • Domain Rating (DR): 31
  • Ahrefs Rank: 3,739,321
  • Referring Domains (DoFollow): 2.05K
  • Total Keywords: 34.0K
  • Estimated Organic Traffic/mo: 56.6K
  • Domain Relevance: 4 out of 5
  • Content Relevance: 3 out of 5
  • Content Quality: 3 out of 5
  • Word Count: 1500 words

My first guest post link was placed on a tech website. The site seemed to have a pretty relevant range of content published, which makes sense for my brand.

Although there was some arguably spammy content (“Which casino games can get you a lot of money?”), the content was generally relevant and of a good standard.

All of the content matches the tech theme of the site, so it’s clear that there is some editorial control going on.

One issue I noticed with the site was that the navigation bar had something wrong with it and wasn’t displaying properly:

This gave me the impression the site isn’t very well cared for.

Other than that, the blog posts are credited to human authors, and the quality of the content published isn’t bad. Overall, a good site to get a link from.

The link was naturally placed in the text and made total sense to the flow of the article. The anchor text perfectly aligned with my content’s main keyword.

Here’s how the link was placed:

The site also gets a lot of traffic, with most of the traffic coming from the countries where my target audience is found.

However, most of this growth only happened in the last year or so.

Here’s an Ahrefs report on this:

I dug a bit deeper into the site’s history on Archive.org, and this is what I found:

site history on archive org

It looks like the site had a previous history from 2015. Could this tell us the site was recently repurposed?

Most likely.

And when I ran a basic search to see if the page was indexed, no result came up. So the site may look good in terms of organic traffic, but the actual page my link is on isn’t even indexed on Google.

Besides this, the link was good. The site seems legit and the content was relevant.

Link 2: 4 out of 5

  • Total cost: $400
  • Domain Rating (DR): 62
  • Ahrefs Rank: 214,229
  • Referring Domains (DoFollow): 18.5K
  • Total Keywords: 163K
  • Estimated Organic Traffic/mo: 52.7K
  • Domain Relevance: 4 out of 5
  • Content Relevance: 4 out of 5
  • Content Quality: 4 out of 5
  • Word Count: 4000 words

This was a rather impressive link. The site has a great DR, lots of traffic, and some quality content.

Here’s what the site looks like:

Other than loads of ads and popups, it's a solid website. Relevant content and a clear niche. Even though there’s a lot of content on this site, there’s clear control over what type of content is published.

Excellent. It fits in naturally and uses the keyword I wanted.

Let’s go back to the high level of traffic on this site. Here’s a report on the organic traffic:

Besides a big spike and dip in 2019, the traffic has remained stable.

While a lot of link building services simply place you on a link farm with little to no traffic, it looks like this website has a really solid readership. This shows me the site can be trusted.

The page my link was placed on is indexed, and it has a little bit of traffic heading its way.

Overall, this is a brilliant backlink.

Link 3: 4.5 out of 5

  • Total cost: $420
  • Domain Rating (DR): 72
  • Ahrefs Rank: 72,690
  • Referring Domains (DoFollow): 37.5K
  • Total Keywords: 466K
  • Estimated Organic Traffic/mo: 117K
  • Domain Relevance: 4 out of 5
  • Content Relevance: 4 out of 5
  • Content Quality: 4 out of 5
  • Word Count: 1300 words

This was my favourite link that I got from Authority Builders. The site was top quality, and the content totally aligned with my link.

The tech site is well-maintained and follows very clear editorial control:

Real authors are credited, and all of the content aligns perfectly with the tech niche.

My link was inserted naturally over the ideal anchor text. This is how it was placed:

And when I took a look at the site’s organic traffic, it’s clear that this website has a genuine readership that they’ve built up over time.

The traffic has been increasing steadily and naturally, something that is reflected in my Archive.org finding:

archive org for guest post due diligence

This is definitely a real site with a real audience - not just a link farm.

The page is indexed by Google, although it’s not getting any traffic yet.

Overall, this is an excellent backlink. The site has good authority, a steady flow of organic traffic, and the website content is of a high standard.

Summary

Authority Builders offers quality links from an easy-to-use marketplace. If I continue to use it, I could certainly build up a strong base of backlinks.

I like that they offer a wide range of link building strategies, including guest posts, link insertions (niche edits) and a fully-managed service (no broken link building though).

Sure, it takes a bit of budget to get links. If you can get past this hurdle, then Authority Builders could make a big difference to your SEO and drive real link equity.
