Best Blog Writing Services (11 Agencies Reviewed)

by Tom Kotze

There are no shortages of blog writing services.

But which service is the best?

I ordered a blog post from 11 different agencies to see just how good each one is. In addition to reviewing the overall quality of the content, I also reviewed each agency's pricing and processes.

Not sure which blog writing service to use?

Follow this guide to find out which professional blog writing services are best.

11 Best Blog Writing Services Reviewed

1. Contentellect

blog writing agencies contentellect

#1 on my list of best blog writing services is Contentellect

Sure, we’re a bit biased, but after reviewing all of the top blog content writing agencies, it’s clear that Contentellect offers a superior service.

The main thing that sets Contentellect apart is their editorial and management process.

Every client at Contentellect gets assigned a dedicated account manager whose job it is to brief and assign content orders to writers. Account managers also proofread and edit content, so no work is ever returned to a client before a full editorial process is completed.

This means quality control is top-notch.

From a client's perspective, Contentellect are also great to work with as you have a dedicated person to talk to and ensure your content deliverable is perfect.

I was actually really surprised that most of the services and content marketplaces below don't have this level of editorial and management control.

Contentellect offers different blog writing packages. You can order on a pay as you go basis, setup a monthly blog article plan, or indeed order in bulk (10k-100k words at a time).

The content on offer includes blog articles, eBooks, and product descriptions.

Pricing

Contentellect offers simple and transparent pricing. They charge $0.10 per word for their PAYG and Monthly Packages, and as low as $0.07 per word for their bulk service.

For an additional but affordable cost, clients can also get add-on services like image sourcing, keyword research and publishing.

All writers are native English speakers, you get unlimited edits and revisions, every article is expertly proofread and optimized for search engines, and there is a complete money-back guarantee if you’re not happy. This single standard price per word model is an easier solution than the pricing models offered by other blog writing services.

2. Compose.ly

composely review

Compose.ly comes second in our list of best blog writing services due to the high-quality content on offer.

Compose.ly offers three types of content writing packages (self-service membership, managed service subscription, and custom projects).

You can get just about any type of content you want to be written by a large team of experienced writers.

Pricing

Ordering content on Compose.ly is a great experience. You create a profile that gives you access to a dashboard where all of your content is managed. From here, you can easily order new content.

In terms of pricing, Compose.ly is on the more expensive side, starting at $74.95 for a 500-word blog post (i.e. $0.15 per word). However, you pay for high-quality content and writers that are experienced in your niche.

3rd Party Reviews

As of writing Composely have a 4.4/5 rating (12 reviews) on Trustpilot and 5/5 rating (3 reviews) on G2

Content Quality

Compose.ly really delivers when it comes to their content quality. I was impressed with what I received in my Compose.ly review, and I could tell that it was written by a content marketer that knew exactly what they were doing.

Pros

  • High-quality content
  • Very efficient ordering and content management process
  • Wide range of content types are available
  • Good communication and customer support

Cons

  • Expensive

3. ContentFly

contentfly review

ContentFly is one of the top blog writing services out there.

It’s a more expensive blog writing service, and it’s not ideal for ordering once-off blog posts, but you get some great blog content in return.

ContentFly offers a wide range of writing services (like blog articles, landing page copy, email marketing copy, etc) that are easy to order online.

Pricing

All content is easily ordered online through your dashboard. When ordering, you can choose between three different tiers of writers at three different price ranges.

You can’t just order a single blog post, but have to set a monthly word count, starting at 4000 words. This starts at a minimum of $375 that needs to be paid in advance before you can order any content.

3rd Party Reviews

As of writing ContentFly have a 4/5 rating (18 reviews) on Trustpilot and 5/5 rating (3 reviews) on G2

Content Quality

ContentFly delivers great quality blog posts. They have a large pool of experienced writers that deliver content within 5 days. The blog article I ordered required a small bit of rework, but I did choose a lower-tier writer. You pay more for ContentFly, but you receive a much better service than most.

Pros

  • Easy content ordering process
  • Multiple content options
  • Huge writer pool available
  • Quality content

Cons

  • A more expensive content writing service You can only order bulk word counts

4. Verblio

Verblio Content Creation

Verblio had to be high up on our list of best blog writing services due to the really efficient content ordering system and overall quality delivered.

Verblio offers a wide range of writing services through five different plans based on word count. These range from 300 words to 2000 words.

Pricing

One of the best things about Verblio is how easy it is to order content online. It only takes a few minutes, but you get to include all kinds of special requests and make your order very detailed.

Verblio offers basic blog writing services or more advanced packages that include SEO optimization, publishing, image sourcing, and more. You can even order videos to match your blog content.

It’s a pricey blog writing service, with content starting at $34.95 for 300 words (that's just under $0.12 per word), but you get what you pay for.

3rd Party Reviews

As of writing Verblio have a 5/5 rating (19 reviews) on G2.

Content Quality

The quality of Verblio’s blog writing services can’t be faulted. You pay for high-quality content marketers, and this is what you receive. The 72 hour turnaround time is efficient for the high quality that they deliver.

Pros

  • Very easy sign-up and order process
  • High-quality content
  • Various extras available (like video and SEO)

Cons

  • Expensive You can’t just order a single blog post

5. Crowd Content

crowd content review

Crowd Crowd is more of a content marketplace than a writing agency. They've been around for many years so I was keen to test them out and see how they performed.

In short their sign-up and ordering process is very slick, but I was a little underwhelmed with the content quality.

I'm always a little suspicious of content writing services that segment writers by price and quality. Crowd Content have 4 tiers of writers. I used there tier 3 writer service, which was okay, but by no means amazing. It made me think that their tier 1 and 2 writers had to be non-native English speakers.

Overall the experience for pretty good, but it did feel like more of a content-mill than the services mentioned above.

Admittedly, the pricing is more affordable, and if I was pushed to use a marketplace I would rather use Crowd Content than say, Textbroker.

Pricing

Crowd Content pricing is based on their 4 different writer bands, as follows:

  • 1 Star Writer: $0.03 per word
  • 2 Star Writer: $0.04 per word
  • 3 Star Writer: $0.088 per word
  • 4 Star Writer: $0.135 per word

3rd Party Reviews

As of writing Crowd Content have a 3/5 rating (8 reviews) on TrustPilot and 0.5/5 rating on G2.

Content Quality

The article I received from Crowd Content was okay. I used a 3-Star writer so was expecting decent quality. What I received was well written. I could see the writer was a native English speaker. But the depth of insight felt a little lacking.

Pros

  • Really easy sign-up and ordering process
  • Big writer pool with fast turnaround times
  • Ability to work with the same writers
  • Unlimited revisions

Cons

  • Tiered writers undersells the service - personally I would avoid 1 and 2 Star writers.

6. iWriter

iwriter review

iWriter is a good blog article writing service, but they also offer other copywriting services, like web page copy, product descriptions, Kindle books, and more.

Their SEO blog writing services are also pretty effective, and the quality of content I received was okay but I fear that with the different price tiers, the quality overall can be quite inconsistent.

Pricing

iWriter has a really straightforward online ordering process.

The service caters to all budgets, with various pricing tiers. While this makes it easy to get content that matches your budget, it also means their content quality is pretty inconsistent.

iWriter is one of the most affordable blog writing services, with content available for only $8.25 for 1000 words. However, this means the quality of the content is definitely questionable.

3rd Party Reviews

As of writing iWriter have a 4.2/5 rating (53 reviews) on TrustPilot and 3.9/5 rating on G2.

Content Quality

There are many appealing elements of iWriter, like the fast turnaround times, cheap blog writing services, and really easy ordering process. The problem is, the quality of the content isn’t always there.

Pros

  • Very easy to sign up and order content
  • Fast turnaround times
  • Affordable content writing services
  • Large pool of writers available

Cons

  • Inconsistent content quality

7. SEO Butler

seo butler review

SEO Butler has a pretty comprehensive offering to improve your site’s search engine rankings. Their online blog writing services are straightforward, consistent, and of good quality.

Pricing

Signing up and ordering content through SEO Butler couldn’t get any easier. You can just add the content you want to your cart, and easily check out. Compared to other blog writing subscription services, SEO Butler offers a convenient solution for anyone wanting to order single blog posts. SEO Butler offers different prices for the different types of content that they offer. Regular blog content is available at $0.07 per word.

3rd Party Reviews

I didn't find any 3rd party reviews of SEO Butler on Trustpilot or G2.

Content Quality

SEO Butler offers a consistent level of good quality content. I was happy with the content I received for my SEO Butler review. It required a few small edits, but there were no major issues that I found.

Pros

  • Simple and transparent pricing system
  • Various SEO products are available
  • Very simple signup and order process
  • Orders include edits and rewrites

Cons

  • No option to choose specific writers
  • Turnaround time can be pretty long

8. Textbroker

Textbroker Review

Textbroker is a straightforward blog writing service that offers a wide range of copywriting options. It’s easy to sign up for as a client, and there are all kinds of different content options and pricing structures available.

Pricing

Textbroker is quite different from the other best blog writing services in this list through the way that you order content.

Instead of just requesting and paying for content, you can be more specific about which writers you choose to work with.

The pricing structure is a little confusing. You pay for different levels of quality at different prices. This starts at around $20 for a 1000 word article and goes up to over $70 for higher-level writers.

3rd Party Reviews

As of writing TextBroker have a 2.7/5 rating (32 reviews) on TrustPilot and 4.7/5 (3 reviews) rating on G2.

Content Quality

For my Textbroker review, I chose a mid-range writer and I wasn’t entirely happy with the quality of the content I received. It required a fair amount of reworking before I would publish the article. That being said, you can always pay a higher rate for better quality content. I’m sure the top-level writers produce good work, but you just have to know who to work with.

Pros

  • Affordable prices
  • A good level of flexibility when choosing writers and content types
  • Easy to use dashboard

Cons

  • Confusing pricing system Inconsistent quality of content

9. BKA Content

bka content review

BKA Content is a good blog writing service, although they don’t stand out as being one of the best.

BKA Content offers a pretty wide range of different writing services. This includes blog posts at three different plans (subscription, standard, and pro), web pages, eCommerce content, and custom products like press releases and metadata.

You can also get BKA Content to help with keyword research and creating your social media posts.

Pricing

BKA Content works just like any good online blog writing service. You create a profile, choose your type of content, fill out your order form, and wait for your content to be ready. Standard blog posts cost $0.075 per word, and Pro blog posts cost $0.13 per word. SEO optimized monthly subscriptions start at $195 per month.

3rd Party Reviews

I didn't find any 3rd party reviews of BKA Content on Trustpilot or G2.

Content Quality

For my BKA Content review, I ordered a standard blog post and was slightly underwhelmed. The blog content quality wasn't good enough to publish without significant edits. Perhaps the pro blog post service would result in better quality.

Pros

  • Easy and efficient ordering process
  • Options for self-service and fully managed content
  • Two pricing options are available
  • You can add extras to your content (like keyword research and social media posts)

Cons

  • Editing requires an additional fee
  • No control over who writes your content for you

10. Constant Content

Constant Content Review

Constant Content offers flexible blog article writing services to match different budgets and preferences. One of the things that really sets Constant Content apart is that you can buy custom content that is written to order, or you can purchase ready-made blog articles from their library of over 100K titles. Constant Content has a long list of different types of content on offer, and a large pool of writers to cater to this.

Pricing

You sign up for Constant Content by creating a basic profile, and then you can start to order content. Setting up a brief is pretty standard, but then requesting the writer can get confusing. Instead of ordering content at a flat rate, the platform has a large pool of writers that each work at different rates based on the quality of their services. The average price for a catalog article is $40, the average price for custom content is $120, and this can fluctuate a lot depending on which writer you choose.

Content Quality

The quality of the content will vary depending on which writer you choose to work with. If you want better quality content, you pay a higher price. From my experience, the content I received was not worth what I paid for. Compared to the other best blog writing services, Constant Content let me down. However, this could have been different if I had chosen a more advanced writer.

Pros

  • A lot of flexibility for choosing writers
  • You can choose content that matches your budget
  • Large writer pool
  • You can set your own deadlines for the content

Cons

  • Choosing writers can be confusing
  • Lack of consistency with pricing and writing quality

11. Copify

Copify Review

Last on our list of best blog writing services is Copify.

Copify offers a range of writing services that can be ordered through their online platform. This includes blog writing services, web page copy, reviews, email copywriting, or any custom content requests you have.

Pricing

Setting up your orders on Copify is relatively easy. You just fill out your content request on your profile, pay for your content, and wait for it to be delivered. Copify has a flat rate for all content which makes things really easy to manage. They charge $0.07 per word plus VAT for a standard, one-off blog post. More advanced content orders can get more expensive, but you always pay the same rate for the same consistency. The turnaround time is very fast. You can also request keyword research from Copify, and they can publish your blog posts for you.

Content Quality

This is where Copify let me down. The quality of the content just wasn’t up to the same standard as some of the other top-rated professional blog writing services that I tried out. Besides the quality, the service is easy to use, efficient, and it offers a good range of content options.

Pros

  • Fast turnaround time
  • Wide range of content options is available
  • Copify offers SEO keyword research services
  • Straightforward and simple order process

Cons

  • Content quality could be improved
  • Contact with a salesperson is required before creating an account
  • No option to choose your writer
  • Customer service could be improved
