Looking to build backlinks for your website? It’s one of the most important ranking factors for SEO, but it can also be one of the most costly, time-consuming and tricky things to get right.
This is why link building companies exist. Link building services provide easy backlinks for your site.
But not all links are created equal, and you certainly don't want to end up paying a lot of money for a link on a spammy website with no traffic.
For this review, I bought links from 7 popular link building companies.
I rated them based on the quality and cost of the links they offered.
Let’s get into what I found.
7 Best Link Building Companies
1. Contentellect

If you’re looking for a completely transparent link-building company, then Contentellect is your best option.
One of the biggest problems that I faced during these link-building reviews is that you never really know exactly where your link will end up. The last thing you want is to pay good money for your link to end up on a dodgy site that doesn’t match your criteria at all.
Trust me, this happens more than you’d think.
The great thing about Contentellect is that it’s not just a link building service where you hope for the best. Instead, the process of buying a link is completely transparent and assisted by an expert.
Customers can check the domains before they get the link placement, and understand exactly how their link will be placed. So when you get your link, there will be no surprises.
Contentellect also conducts serious due diligence on sites before placing any links. This means your link only ever ends up on a real website that gets traffic (they guarantee a minimum of 1000 monthly visitors).
Contentellect offers backlinks through guest posts and link insertions (or niche edits), which are pretty standard.
There’s also the option for white hat link building via HARO outreach, which is something that not many link building services offer. HARO is a great way to get backlinks from super high authority sites. It’s a time-consuming process that requires a lot of outreach, but the experts at Contentellect will do it all for you.
Overall, Contentellect doesn’t just sell links, it’s a genuine service managed by a team of outreach experts. The results are higher quality links that are a better match for your brand. And you can always be sure of the quality of the link before you pay for it.
Price
Contentellect offers incredible value. You can get high-quality backlinks for as little as $175, which is far more affordable than most link-building agencies.
This includes a more personalized custom link-building service designed just for your website. Most other link building companies don’t include services like a backlink audit, a custom backlink strategy, and monthly reporting on your links.
Get the link juice flowing with Contentellect.
2. Page One Power

Page One Power is a serious link-building company that offers advanced link-building services.
It almost doesn’t seem right to include Page One Power on this list, because their service is totally different from a regular link-building company.
Don’t expect the standard link insertion or guest post, their custom link-building services are focused on producing far better content on more relevant sites.
Page One Power creates linkable assets, which basically means incredible content, and then does outreach to high-quality publications to get links.
This is the safest and most natural way to acquire backlinks. Their approach is far more consistent than other link building companies, and you don’t have to worry about a bad link placement.
All of the content is custom-fitted to match your website and SEO strategy.
Something that sets Page One Power apart is that you don’t simply buy a link and wait for it to appear. Instead, you develop a custom link-building plan to match your business goals.
Working with Page One power involves strategic meetings, an SEO audit, custom content creation, as well as reports and reviews.
You’re not just buying links through a productized service, you’re working with SEO pros on retainer.
So if you want very high-quality links and content for your website, then Page One Power is one of the best places to look.
There’s just one problem - this linking building service is very expensive. Campaigns start at $3700 a month!
3. Authority Builders

Authority Builders is a major link-building marketplace. They offer high-quality, natural links through a couple of different strategies.
With Authority Builders, you also get quite a lot of control over where your link is placed. The platform offers a transparent link-building process through its easy-to-use dashboard.
You just log into your portal and choose exactly what link-building opportunities you want. You know what kind of site your link will be placed on before you pay for it.
I was very happy with my Authority Builders experience. I got some awesome links from relevant, high-quality websites with great content.
While the link-building service is solid, the only problem is that you will need a decent budget to afford links with Authority Builders. Quality links don’t come cheap.
Authority Builders offers a range of link-building opportunities, including guest posts, link insertions, and citations in their marketplace. They also offer customised link-building campaigns designed around your website.
Unlike other link-building services, these strategies all provide very natural links for your website through genuine outreach opportunities. You won’t just end up on a “link farm”.
Price
The downside to a great link-building service like this is that it doesn’t come cheap. Be prepared to pay top dollar for these links. High DR links go for around $300 to $400+. Of course, you can buy lower-quality links for less.
4. The Hoth

The Hoth is a white label SEO service that offers some solid link-building services.
You just create an account and log into the platform’s dashboard, where you can access all of your link-building campaigns. It’s a very straightforward platform and getting links is easy.
My experience with The Hoth was mixed.
Of the links I bought, some were good and some were questionable. The link service isn’t as transparent as the previously mentioned services, so you can’t be 100% certain about where and how your link will be placed.
You get a basic overview of the site, but can’t see the quality of the site’s content or the relevance of the domain until after your link is published. I wish I could have accessed this because it really let me down with one of my links.
Overall The Hoth is a good choice and it can certainly help you generate more traffic. Just be aware that not all backlinks are created equal, and you may end up with some less-desirable options.
The Hoth offers a wide range of SEO, content, and PPC services.
In terms of link building, The Hoth offers guest posts, content syndication, press release, business listings, and their own managed SEO strategies.
You get a good range of options to choose from and can use The Hoth to create a solid link-building strategy for your website.
Price
The Hoth isn’t the most affordable link-building service, but it does offer more competitive prices compared to some other services. Be prepared to pay around $200 - $300 for quality links.
5. OutreachMama

OutreachMama is a straightforward link-building marketplace.
You simply choose how many links you want, what type of links you want, pay for them, and you receive the links very efficiently.
While ordering was easy, I didn’t like the lack of transparency from OutreachMama. You really can’t be sure of where your links will end up or how they will be placed.
Luckily I got two decent links that seemed pretty natural, but the third link I bought was no good at all. This kind of inconsistency is worrying - especially if you plan to order a lot of links.
That being said, my OutreachMama experience wasn’t all that bad, but it certainly could have been better. I’m not sure how I’d feel putting a big budget into an OutreachMama link-building strategy.
OutreachMama is all about outreach. They offer blogger outreach and guest posting. They also have special link-building services for agencies and for brands.
Unlike link insertions, OutreachMama supposedly puts in more leg work to make sure your links end up on customized content that perfectly matches your brand.
Price
OutreachMama wasn’t cheap, but it is slightly more reasonable than some other link building companies. You can expect to pay $305 for a DR40+ link.
While some platforms use different prices for different links, OutreachMamma offers standard pricing for their different link-building plans.
6. FatJoe

FatJoe is a big name in link-building, offering a wide range of SEO services. I bought three links through their blogger outreach service and was a little bit underwhelmed.
For an outreach service, it felt like the links were just quickly inserted into sites designed to provide backlinks. The links weren’t very natural.
Some of these sites had a good DR, but practically no traffic. The content was also quite far off from what my links were about.
This isn’t to say that FatJoe doesn’t offer any decent links.
In my FatJoe review, I also received some quality backlinks that seemed a lot more natural. This is another link building company with a lot of inconsistency.
Unlike Contentellect, you don’t get total transparency over where your links will be placed.
It’s a great way to get fast backlinks, but if your FatJoe experience was like mine, some of these links could be a bit a little toxic.
FatJoe offers the widest range of link building offers from the different companies that I reviewed.
You can use FatJoe for blogger outreach, niche edits, infographic outreach, content syndication, multilingual outreach, and media placements. This isn’t to mention the many additional SEO, copywriting, and video services that FatJoe offers. The only service they don't offer is broken link building.
Price
FatJoe is not as expensive as some other link-building services. Their blogger outreach services start at $50 for links on DA10+ sites and go up to links starting from $490 on DA50+ sites with over 1K traffic. Their most popular pricing plan starts at $95 for DA30+ links.
Just be aware that a good DA doesn’t necessarily equal a good quality link. I received one link on a high DA site that had hardly any traffic and some very questionable content.
7. Love To Link

Love To Link is another popular link building company.
They offer a very straightforward marketplace, where you can see the category of the site, and all of the important details that relate to the site. This gives you good control over the level of website your link will be placed on, although you never actually know what site it is and how relevant the site’s content will be until the link is placed.
Love To Link is easy to use and offers some decent links.
However, as is the case with most link-building marketplaces like this, you can never be too sure of the standard of the website your link might end up on. It could be far off from what you imagined.
Some sites are great, and some are questionable. As you can’t review the content before you get the link, you can’t be too sure of what you’re paying for.
That being said, Love To Link is a solid link-building service with many happy customers. It’s easy to use and offers a speedy solution to getting backlinks for your website.
Love To Link only sells links from real websites with real traffic. No PBNs, link farms or repurposed domains.
Price
Love To Link is competitively priced, and offers some good value for the overall quality of the links.
You also get a more bespoke SEO package, where you can be more picky with what links you add to your basket. Compared to other outreach agencies, Love To Link gives you quite a lot of power in terms of how much you can spend on links.
The prices can vary a lot depending on the quality of the site.
Summary
Hiring a link building company can be daunting because you’re never too sure about what you’re going to get. The best link building companies offer complete transparency, where you know where your links will end up and how they will be placed.
Good link-building is not all about how many links you get. Bad quality backlinks could do more harm to your site than good.
The good news is there are some great link building companies out there. You just need to make sure you’re paying for the right links for your website.
