My Frase Experience
Frase has a few cool features and functions. For this Frase review, I focused entirely on the AI writing tool. I used this tool to write a blog post, and I’ll go over exactly what this involved.
I’ll cover how the AI writing tool works, how good the content it produces is, and whether I think the tool is worth it.
Getting started with Frase is pretty easy. You start by creating a basic profile, you select the size and type of your business, and then you are presented with the different plans and pricing options.
You can also schedule a demo to see how the software will work for you. Once you’ve chosen and signed up for your plan, you’re all set to get started!
How much does Frase cost? There are three different pricing options depending on the needs of your business.
The Basic plan is offered at $44.99/month ($39.99/month if paid annually), and it is designed for individual users. The Team plan costs $114.99/month (or $99.99/ month if paid annually), and it is designed for content teams. Then there is an Enterprise option, where you can create a custom plan for any sized business at a custom price.
If you want to gain unlimited access to the AI writer and access other premium features, then you will have to pay an additional $35/month fee.
Using the Frase AI Writing Tool
Using the Frase AI writing tool is really easy and straightforward. When you log into your Frase profile, start a new document and add your main keyword to “Target Search Query”.
Basically, Frase will look at the top search results for this query, and help you structure your content around this.
Once you’ve added your target search query, Frase will create a new document for you. For this Frase review, I went for the keyword topic “what is content marketing?”.
On the right side of the document is a list of the top-performing articles on search engines for that keyword. You can scroll through these articles to see what type of content is performing best, and help you structure your own content.
When you find sections you want to add, you can click on these and they will be added to your document. You can set these as H2s, H3s, etc.
This helps you put together the structure of your article, which is only the first part of using this tool. The next step is to fill in the content with the AI writer.
This part is really cool. All you need to do is click underneath your headings where the body text needs to go and click “Write for Me”. Frase will now automatically write this section for you.
Here is an example of what Frase wrote for the first section of my article:
Honestly, this isn’t bad!
For something that is automatically written without any human help, I thought the tool summed up the section pretty well.
As you can see, there are a couple of missing commas and the sentences are on the long side. Overall the content makes sense and reads naturally though.
To add more, just click at the end of the paragraph and hit “Write for Me” again. This will continue adding to your text. It will also create new sections based on the search results you’re focused on.
Here’s the direction that my article continued to take (I didn’t select any new sections, I just kept hitting “Write for Me”):
Again, not bad. The content answers the question pretty accurately and it makes sense.
Next, I decided to choose my own section.
I chose a new header from a different high-ranking article and prompted my new AI writer to get to work.
Here’s what I got:
I liked how the AI writer maintained the same tone of voice and writing style throughout the content.
And for a robot writer, it actually sounds quite human.
One thing you probably can’t get from this tool is a well-written intro. As we know, the intro is possibly the most important part of a blog post, and it’s really got to capture your audience.
We put a lot of focus on this at Contentellect.
When I prompted Frase to write an intro, it just answered the question of the title. This would work for a section of body content, but not for a strong introduction.
Is the Frase AI writer good enough to replace a human writer?
To answer this question, we need to look at two things:
- The information that the AI writer includes in each section
- The way this information is written
First off, the actual information included was really good. Being able to choose your sections based on search results is very helpful. This allows you to optimize your articles based on the best-ranking content out there.
I thought every section was well explained and covered relevant information.
For an AI tool, the quality of the writing was also good. It certainly needs a human touch to correct a few grammar issues, add spaces, break up sentences, and improve the flow of the writing.
However, everything made sense and read naturally.
Overall, this was not a bad result at all for an AI writing tool.
Would I Publish This Article?
I wouldn’t publish the content exactly as it was “written” by the AI tool.
However, with a few tweaks and adjustments, I would be happy to use what was generated.
The article was well structured, it covered all of the relevant information, and the writing style was mostly on-point!
I would add my own introduction and conclusion, fix a couple of grammatical mistakes, and expand on a few points a bit more. With a few adjustments, I think you could create some really great content with this tool.
Frase is definitely helpful for structuring and outlining articles, completing sentences, and paraphrasing content. I wouldn’t necessarily use it to write an entire blog post from start to finish, but it's an awesome tool for assisting the content writing process.
What Errors Did I Find?
The content was basically error-free.
Grammarly picked up a few minor grammatical errors, but other than that everything came out well.
Unlike many other AI writing tools, all of the information included was relevant and factually correct. Everything was spelled correctly, and each sentence and paragraph made sense.
