Once you purchase a HARO campaign, you will be assigned an account manager. To get started we need access to a corporate email account from which we will pitch. If you don't already have a HARO account, we'll set one up for you.
Each day we review HARO journalist requests, identify ones that would work well for your company and then ghostwrite pitches on your behalf. It's a performance-based service so we will keep pitching until we score you the number of backlinks you’ve purchased in your campaign.
At the end of each month, we will send you a report of all pitches sent and links scored. Depending on how many links you have purchased, it can take 6-12 weeks to see links coming through.

In a nutshell, each day we review HARO journalist requests, identify ones that would work well for your company and then ghostwrite pitches on your behalf. It's a performance-based service so we will keep pitching until we score you the number of backlinks you’ve purchased in your campaign.
No. Our HARO outreach service should be used for SEO purposes only (i.e., getting high quality / high domain authority links). Unlike a PR campaign that targets specific journalists and publications to get relevant links that feature your product or service, our HARO campaign focuses exclusively on getting high domain authority links, regardless of relevance.
For the best results we require access to a corporate email account on your domain. This can either be your personal account (although not recommended) or some of our clients setup an email account specifically for HARO pitches (for example, yourname01@yourdomain.com). Your account manager will monitor this email every day and craft pitches directly from it.
If you are not already signed up to HARO, we will do this for you using the email account you provide us. HARO notifications are sent three times a day. Our team will evaluate every notification and pitch to all relevant requests directly from the email account you provide us. We pitch as you or as any specific person in your company that you would like us to ghostwrite for - ideally the owner/founder or head of marketing.
Unless instructed otherwise, we use quite a bit of creative licence to pitch. At the end of the day, the journalist is just looking for an authoritative and relevant soundbite for their article, so we try, in every pitch, to give this to them and score you a backlink. For example, if Forbes is asking for small business owners to comment on accounting software for SMEs, we would try to pitch to this using a creative angle (i.e. I'm "name of the person we're writing for", the founder of "your brand". We process 1000s of online transactions every month and rely heavily on accounting software, Zero. Here's why we like it...). We try to add as much anecdotal information as possible as this works well with journalists, but to do so we obviously need to use a creative licence. We also pitch across many different topic areas that may not be directly related to your product or service but are broadly related to business, marketing, entrepreneurship, technology etc.
Yes. Although we have no control over the links or whether a journalist decides to quote us, we do guarantee that we will keep pitching until we achieve the number of links purchased in your campaign. In our experience, the average link acquisition per pitch is 3-5%. So for every 20-30 pitches you should get at least 1 link. If we fail to get the minimum number of links based on your package, we'll continue pitching until we do.
No, only links with a domain rating (DR) greater than 50 are counted. Any links that we score on sites with DRs < 50 are freebies for you.
Depending on how many links you have purchased, it can take 6-12 weeks to see links coming through. At the end of each month, we will send you a report of all pitches sent and links scored. We use Ahrefs and Google Alerts on your brand name to track links. Journalists often don't let us know if pitches have been used so we will keep a close watch on your backlink profile to see how we are doing.
Again, it varies. Sometimes they are, but often they are nofollow. The journalists we're pitching too write for major publications, many of which default external links to nofollow. We have no control over the links. But what we can say is a nofollow link from a leading publication like Forbes is in our estimation very valuable for SEO, referral traffic, social signals and brand presence.
No. Again, we have no control over the links. 99% of the time the link will be to your homepage on your brand name. Sometimes publications mention the brand but don't link out. Unfortunately we have no control over this.
No. As with the anchor text, we don't have any control over where the links point, but almost invariably it will point to your website's homepage and be placed on your brand name anchor.
